Chief Executive Officer, Australian Securitisation Forum

Chris Dalton has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Securitisation Forum (ASF) since 2009.

With over 195 member organisations, the Australian Securitisation Forum (ASF) is the peak industry association representing participants in the Australian and New Zealand securitisation and covered bond markets.The ASF performs a pivotal role in representing the industry to local and global policymakers and regulators, advancing the professional standards of the industry by offering a program of educational development courses and workshops to market professionals and promoting the market to investors, both in Australia and overseas.

From 2000 – 2008, Chris was the Managing Director and Country Head of Standard & Poor’s (S&P). In this role, Chris was responsible for the management of S&P’s credit ratings, risk solutions, managed fund research, index services and financial data and information businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Chris joined S&P in 1990 and successfully established Standard & Poor’s as the leading ratings agency of mortgage and asset-backed securities. In 1994 he was appointed head of S&P Asia Pacific structured finance group responsible for the regional analysts in S&P Tokyo, Hong Kong and Melbourne offices. 

Chris is also the Managing Director and founder of Australia Ratings, Australia's only domestic credit rating agency providing credit ratings and ancillary services to Australia's fixed income market and a former Director of the Emergency Services and State Superannuation Fund, a $22 billion pension fund.

Chris has a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and a Master of Business Administration from the Melbourne Business School.
