Joseph Lau
Mr. Lau has over 20 years of experience in structured finance and banking, both in the US and Europe. Immediately prior to joining Lord Capital, Mr. Lau worked as a Managing Director and Head of Term Non-Traditional ABS at RBC Capital Markets, where he also started up the European Term ABS practice. Previously he was at Deutsche Bank, responsible for the Credit Solution Group’s $4 billion lending book and capital markets business for consumer unsecured, student loan and certain non-traditional ABS asset classes. He worked for more than a decade at Barclays Capital in the ABS team covering a variety of assets classes, both on-the-run areas (credit cards, trade receivables, certain mortgage assets, auto loans) as well as non-traditional assets such as transportation/operating assets (corporate and recreational aircraft, shipping, rental and fleet finance), CDO-related structures, insurance settlements and whole business assets, among others. Mr. Lau began his career at JPMorgan.
Mr. Lau received his M.B.A. from Oxford University and a B.S. in Finance and Economics from St. Joseph’s University; he also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
